Florida’s Primary is just a few days away and I have my latest set of previews. This article covers the races for State Senate and the handful of primaries for State Attorney and Public defenders. You can see all the details here
State Senate Primary Preview Article
Half of the State Senate seats are up.
This article looks at several incredibly contentious and expensive State Senate Primaries.
In Senate 7, a massive multi-million dollar race is underway as Representative Tom Leek and former St Johns Sheriff David Shoar fight it out for the seat. Republican leaders want Leek while trial attorney’s want Shoar. DeSantis has endorsed Leek as Trump has endorsed Shoar.
Meanwhile everyone ignores Gerry James, the 3rd candidate in the race, and someone who got 44% in a 2022 race. James is a conservative activist who’s 2022 showing was far stronger than many expected.
I swear if James wins thanks to Shoar and Leek nuking each-other in ads it will definitely be a story for the ages.
Down in Senate District 13, a disgusting racist campaign against Republican businessman Bowen Kou has been ongoing. This has been so horrid that I dedicated an entire separate article to it.
Over in Orlando, Geraldine Thompson is being primaried by former State Senate Randolph Bracy. This primary is open to all voters and Bracy is trying to appeal to Republicans.
Right in that same area, Alan Grayson is AGAIN trying to get back into office. He is running in the primary for the Hispanic-majority Senate District 25. I write about the race heavily in the main article. You can also read my five part series on Grayson’s constant campaigns here.
Down in Senate 35, a major 3-way primary is going in for a Southwest Broward seat that is arguably the most racially diverse Democratic primary in the state.
Give it all a read! Primary day is almost here!
